About Us

In 1997, Mark and Paula Ridl started Production, Tooling, & Automation, Inc. in Hoopeston, Illinois.  At the time, it was a thriving business doing work for the automotive industry.  An avid fisherman, Mark made frequent trips to Kentucky Lake and began accessorizing his boat with mounts of his own design.  Soon, friends started asking if he could make mounts for them.  One thing led to another, and while looking out over an Illinois cornfield, the name “Cornfield Crappie Gear” was born.

In the Fall of 2017, the Ridls moved to Gilbertsville, Kentucky on the shores of Kentucky Lake and went full-time into the production of graph and transducer mounts.  Shortly after, the company name changed to Cornfield Fishing Gear, because they realized that fisherman of all species utilizes the products around the country and all over the world.

As technology changes, Cornfield Fishing Gear has stayed at the forefront of producing the finest mounting systems available.  All of their products are made in the USA of CNC machined aluminum with stainless steel hardware, anodized and powder paint coatings, and are unmatched in fit and finish.

When customers want the absolute best of the best in electronics mounts, they know that they are hand built in a little town in Western Kentucky!
